Hero solutions
Here we share our tactics vs. common hero teams in the current metagame. Defending teams can usually be reliably beaten by multiple counter teams. I will show various options per team, but there might still be teams out there that i haven't been thinking of yet. But i will constantly be updating this list, esp. when new heroes arrive and new teams form.
For now i present solutions for Electra-Fluffy and Galahad-Lyria teams. But i will add more to the list over time!
Electra-Fluffy teams
In a lot of different variations ...
Galahad-Lyria teams
Usually accompanied by Tristan, Sebastian and another damage-dealer - often Lara, but potentially also Kayla or Keira
Lyria teams
With Ishmael, Lara-Fafnir-Thea, Kayla-frontline and Lyria-Dante
Dante-Orion-Augustus
Amira tank
Dante Blender
Including Rufus tank variant.
Also relevant for 4-5x Marksmen teams in CoW Shooting Range
Clash of Worlds (CoW) teams
Esp. Engineerium and City Hall
Addendum: How to attack in CoW
Overview of a very effective choice of three teams to use in Clash of Worlds
1. Electra-Fluffy teams (EF-teams)
There are a lot of variants of this team around: very aggressive ones with mages like Orion, Cascade and Augustus, a bit more balanced ones using Lars&Krista for example, or very slow setups relying on control heroes and healers like Jorgen, Polaris, Thea or Byrna. Different setups will require picking the right team and maybe do further adjustments using "bench heroes". This is what makes the EF-teams so hard to beat ... and why you still need to Combat Train. But this list will give you a good starting point!
Also check the slideshow below for a couple examples of specific counters.
1. JULIUS-JUDGE-JORGEN-HEIDI-THEA
Bench: POLARIS, IRIS, CELESTE, (ELECTRA)
This is probably the most reliable Anti-Electra/Fluffy team that i use almost exclusively. With the right adjustments it can find a solution vs. pretty much any variant (with only a few exceptions). It usually wins pretty much with 100% win rate and often has everyone alive. The default lineup in the picture is esp. for aggressive Electra-Fluffy teams (with Orion, Cascade, Augustus etc.). Alterations are necessary to adjust to other specific variants, for example:
- OLIVER patronage on Julius when enemy has (even) more burst
- OLIVER patronage on Judge might be necessary too sometimes
- POLARIS for Thea should help when the enemy has a lot of control/healing
- POLARIS for Judge can also be necessary - for example vs Amira or Folio variants
- CELESTE is good vs BYRNA - she can replace Judge or even Julius and tank! But it does not work vs. every variant ...
- IRIS either instead or together with HEIDI can be a useful addition. She seems to do better vs Byrna variants.
- KHORUS for Oliver when enemy has more Control heroes (esp. Arachne)
- BISCUIT for Oliver vs. strong enemy healing, like from Byrna and Thea
- Switching BISCUIT and MARA patronages between Judge and Polaris can help, too
- Cosmic Battle is currently teaching me that ELECTRA can somewhat substitute the banned Julius. But Julius shield gives a lot of protection from big Fluffy hits, that can cause losses with Electra tanking.
2. MUSHY & BYRNA
Bench: THEA, CELESTE, CASCADE
This works very well vs slower Electra-Fluffy teams, with a lot of control and esp. healing - where i use it mostly. Additional support vs. can come from CELESTE or CASCADE, likely replacing Maya. Another option would be THEA vs. more offensive lineups. Bringing in BISCUIT for Khorus also helps a lot vs. strong healing.
3. ISAAC/SEBASTIAN teams with READINESS FLAG
Bench: MORRIGAN, AIDAN* (Team 1); GUUS, JORGEN, GALAHAD, RUFUS (Team 2)
READINESS flag is important here to let Seb ult before enemy Fluffy, so Isaac can even defend vs. enemy Augustus. Various versions:
- KAYLA to kill the backline, with Guus and Lyria. MORRIGAN can be an option too! Also AIDAN can help to keep Kayla alive … and it works even by giving up Sebastian’s early ult. It is a good option if there is no Readiness flag available.
- JULIUS and JHU for the backline. GUUS and/or JORGEN can be options for Nebula and/or Jhu. GALAHAD or RUFUS can be a good substitute for Julius.
- What i am using often right now is Guus (Fenris) coming in for Jhu, Oliver patronage on Isaac and Rufus (Biscuits) for Julius, to save the latter for team 1 in CoW.
KHORUS might be necessary in both teams vs. heavy control varariants. BISCUIT vs. variants with heavy healing.
Other variations and combinations with other heroes are likely possible!
4. LARS & KRISTA
Bench: POLARIS, FLUFFY, CELESTE
Can run ELECTRA as tank or just Krista. Both CASCADE (for extra water marks) and ORION (for MP buff) are important support here. It's not working vs. every variant of Electra-Fluffy, however it also works vs. a variety of other teams - which can make it a good choice for AoC! POLARIS, FLUFFY or CELESTE (vs. heavy healing) are good options too, mostly for either Electra or Orion. Switching per patronage around (like Merlin and Biscuit for example) can also help vs. specific enemy lineups. BISCUIT as a pet can also help vs. heavy healing.
5. NEBULA tank
Bench: ISAAC, JORGEN
This variant is surprisingly powerful vs more control-oriented Electra teams - even with very strong CoW buffs. But it cant do much vs teams dishing out a lot of dmg (i.e. Cascade/Orion/Augustus etc.)! Also very good vs EF-teams running Byrna and Thea - where it should use Biscuit as a pet and as patronage on Fluffy! JORGEN can replace Fluffy vs. some variants.
Vs. teams without Augustus, Isaac can be brought in, probably for Fluffy. That can even work vs bursty team compositions.
6. ORION & AUGUSTUS: Brute Force with or without ISAAC
Notes:
- ISAAC tank is good mostly vs teams without Augustus - and might be the best option vs. very aggressive teams like EF-Orion-Cascade-Polaris ... when #1 is not reliable anymore
- JORGEN tank for Augustus teams
Both teams are (with some exceptions) not very reliable (around 70-80% win rate) and more like a last resort or for players with limited heroes available. Note that in the Isaac-tank team, Jorgen is seemingly better when he is less developed.
7. AoC-ISHMAEL
Not as reliable as similar Isaac/Sebastian/Readiness teams above (#2), but can be a great option in AoC: often you will have a charged Ishmael after the first battle, who can withstand a lot of opposing teams then! Some changes might work out better: War Flag; Switch Oliver and Mara between Ishmael and Isaac.
Examples: Attacking teams vs. specific variants of Electra-Fluffy
The displayed attacking teams should have 90-99% win rate.
Most of them use the Readiness flag.
2. Galahad-Lyria teams
This team turned into the meta team to beat when Lyria arrived and took over from the dodge teams that were dominant at the time, esp. the Dante-Orion-Augustus team. Until it was replaced by Electra-Fluffy. It is however still very present in CoW and Grand Arena, because you need to set up more than just one defense team (per player).
Currently, there are three counters that are all very reliable - in the order of presentation:
1. KRISTA-CASCADE-ORION-HELIOS + 1
Bench (i.e. the "1" additional hero): NEBULA, DORIAN, FLUFFY, CELESTE, ELECTRA, ...
This is imo the most reliable team vs Galahad-Lyria ... and actually physical teams in general. Krista is the proxy tank and adds her vampirism-like skill, accelerated by Merlin patronage. Cascade and Orion add a lot of burst dmg and Magic Penetration. Axel on Orion is a safeguard vs. random Lara one-shots (he is the most squishy hero in this team), while Helios will punish Lara and others for their crits. I like Khorus with Pet Flag to reduce the RNG of Laras stun and keep the win rate very high.
For the +1 hero i use NEBULA as default, but switch to others in specific scenarios:
- DORIAN vs. enemy KAYLA - his vampirism keeps Helios alive. Switching to Khorus patronage on Helios can be of additional help!
- FLUFFY vs. buffed up teams, esp. in CoW Shooting Range
- CELESTE vs. teams with extra healing
- ... others like Amira, Lars, Aidan, Polaris can potentially make sense too ...
- ... and ELECTRA is esp. useful to handle "complicated" clean ups in CoW and GW
2. GALAHAD-LYRIA mirror with KAYLA
Bench: TRISTAN, FAFNIR
This is suprisingly reliable, esp. vs the common Galahad team with Lara in the back, who gets shredded by our Kayla. Some adjustment might still be neccesary:
- Use FAFNIR (for Lara) if the enemy runs Kayla too. This change should keep you winning reliably ... unless he also uses Fafnir (on top of Kayla). Then you should not use this team!
- TRISTAN (no patronage) can be an option for Lyria, because there is no anti-dodge necessary and Tristan spams his AP ult faster. It could also be worth removing Lara for him ...
3. Arachne (tank) with Amira and Augustus
Bench: ELECTRA, ASTAROTH
Firstly, i am not the biggest fan of using Amira teams, because they might have a high win rate, but when they lose, they often leave a mess of five enemy heroes on full health and charged up energy behind - very tedious in CoW or GW. Anyways, this one is very reliable (pretty much 100% win rate), so there is a point in using it.
It needs AUGUSTUS with Biscuit to remove Sebastians debuff protection. Replacing Aidan with ELECTRA drops win rate to around 90-95%. Replacing her with ASTAROTH is 80-90%. There are two important things of note though:
- If enemy Lara has MARA PATRONAGE, the Arachne tank version drops to 80-90%. Astaroth and Electra tank stays the same. So Electra tank might be the safest if you dont know enemy patronage!
- It also doesn't work if enemy team has KHORUS as a pet, because Arachne stuns will then be unreliable!

Clash of Worlds: How to do three effective attacks
Quick overview over the choice of teams for three CoW hero attacks. I am presenting three baseline teams in multipla variations, based on the enemy team. Overlapping heroes between the three teams are avoided.
Attack #1: vs. Electra-Fluffy
Three different lineups for different EF-variants:
- 1st one vs. heavy burst setups, like EF+Cascade+Orion+Augustus
- 2nd vs. more EF with control and maybe some healing, like Jorgen+Polaris+Thea
- 3rd vs. healing heavy EF, incl. City Hall teams
These are just examples. Adjustments might still be necessary, depending on the specfic team - esp. solutions that are kinda "in between" these 3 lineups.
Attack #2: vs. Another EF-team, enemy Physical team or Engineerium
- 1st is a good baseline vs. another EF-team. Adjustments incl. GALAHAD for Rufus. Or JULIUS (if i didnt use him in attack #1). JORGEN or JHU might be needed, too. Note that Sebastian in the back is necessary to insta-ult with Readiness flag (incl. Physical Atk. pattern)!
- 2nd is a good baseline vs. standard Physical teams, i.e. Galahad or Lyria tank with Lara in the back. FAFNIR is needed if enemy has Kayla too. If enemy has Fafnir+Kayla himself, you DO NOT attack! TRISTAN is also an option of course.
- 2nd is also good vs. Dante-Orion-Augustus when bringing in ISAAC for Kayla.
- 3rd is tha baseline team vs. a lot of Engineerium teams. Adjustment might be necessary, like GALAHAD, NEBULA, KAYLA or maybe JORGEN.
Attack #3: vs. enemy Physical team, another EF-team or City Hall
- 1st is what this team is best for: enemy physical teams, incl. those with strong buff and Kayla+Fafnir. FLUFFY for Nebula can be necessary, esp. in Shooting Range.
- 2nd is another team vs. EF-teams - and imo the weakest one. So only use this if there are a lot of these teams left. Options incl. POLARIS and ELECTRA, mostly for Fluffy.
- 3rd is another good team vs heavy healing teams, esp. City Hall.
